Coaches Corner

Start or continue your Coaching Career with Sherwood Park Ball Hockey.

Please consider offering your time and enthusiasm to coach in the Sherwood Park Ball Hockey League. You will be placed with your own child (if applicable).  We are looking for good people to set a great example for our young players. SPBH will gladly pair you up with a friend in order to make coaching easier as long as it does not throw off the balance of our teams. We encourage 2-3 parents behind the bench to provide support to the players, so you will be in good company. For the Special Needs Program there will be additional volunteers to assist coaches.

Committment is limited to: running practices/games, completing game sheets, texting scores, communicating to players/parents/guardians, and year-end player evaluations. The most important item is.....having FUN!

If you are interested in coaching ball hockey for the upcoming season please contact us at spbh@parkballhockey.ca or indicate this on your child's registration form. Beware if your significant other volunteered you as we will be calling....

*Here's what kids said in response to a survey about coaches:

"Put me in, coach!"

More than 60% of boys and girls said that — more than anything else — coaches should give everyone a chance to play. Giving everyone a chance to play ranked above teaching new skills (27%) and even winning (9%).

Player Cobi said if he's a coach someday, he'd let everyone play, even the players who are not the best. Why? "That's how they will get better."
