Our Goal
We aim for a positive environment to learn and enjoy the game of ball hockey, develop self confidence and good sportsmanship while improving individual ball hockey skills and team work.
U5 Division (4-5 yr olds)
For the littlest ball hockey player in the family. This program consists of practice time followed by a scrimmage once a week on Saturday mornings vs another team. The main objective of this program is "developmental" and to give boys & girls their first hockey experience. Ball hockey at the grass roots level should be fun with equal participation by all while learning basic hockey skills. Parents are encouraged to help on the arena surface and/or bench (this is a great place to start your coaching career).
U7 - U23 Divisions (6-23 yr olds)
Our youth program provides an opportunity for boys & girls to play this exciting game of ball hockey which is a learn-thru-play program (no experience required). This is a non-contact, officiated sport with similar rules as ice hockey. Teams will play twice a weekend (Friday evenings, Saturdays, Sundays) starting in early April with playoffs in June.
Special Needs Program (10-17 yr olds)
The Special Needs program is being offered to give boys and girls with "special needs" an opportunity to play ball hockey in a structured environment. The format consists of 20-30 minutes of practice time followed by a scrimmage once a week. This is a volunteer run program (primarily parents) to assist participants with learning basic hockey skills in a safe and fun environment. This division plays at Broadmoor Arena on Sunday afternoons.
Women's Division
Our Women's program is a recreational, sanctioned, non-contact program focusing on Fun, Fitness & Fairplay. Women of all skill levels are welcome to register. Join on your own, join with friends or submit a team application (pending space availability). Games are often followed by some important team bonding time at a favorite watering hole.
Men's Division
We added the Men's Division in 2023 and it was very successful (2023 Provincial Gold in Calgary Tier 3 Division and Silver at the 2024 Nationals in Edmonton for Men's C Division). With this success came more desire from many players to compete at a higher level and bring in more teams. Unfortunately arena time is limited and we cannot guarantee the competition level from year to year therefore a decision was made after the 2024 season to put this division on hold and we will revisit at a later date. The men's teams/players are encouraged to go to one of the Edmonton leagues to continue playing this great game of ball hockey.
Camps & Clinics
We offer youth ball hockey camps in April for players wanting to learn how to play or brush up on their skills. We also offer ball hockey clinics for goalies and Come-Try-It events throughout the season (pending instructor availability).
Summer Shinny
Want to have fun and keep playing ball hockey after the spring season ends? Join us in July (Tuesdays & Thursdays) - ages 5 and up. Please note: there are no referees and no scores kept as this is a shinny format - show up and play. Registration is required. Dark and light t-shirts/jerseys required.
Fall & Winter Shinny
Currently we cannot offer a FALL or WINTER program due to arena/gym unavailability.
