Equipment
Equipment is mandatory for all divisions as listed below. Equipment regulations are in place for the safety of players and league as per regulations set forth by the Canada Ball Hockey Association (CBHA). If your son or daughter is injured without proper equipment, insurance coverage will be affected. This is an important issue for both, you and for Sherwood Park Ball Hockey, so please ensure your child is properly equipped. Note: shoulder pads are NOT permitted.
- Helmet with full face mask protection (CSA approved)
- Hockey gloves
- Hockey stick - composite or wood (no plastic blades)
- Shin guards (soccer type - covered by black socks)
- Running shoes
EQUIPMENT (RECOMMENDED)
- Knee pads (soft volleyball style)
- Elbow pads
- Protective cup (jock or jill)
- Mouthguard
GOALIE EQUIPMENT (MANDATORY)
- Goalie pads
- Glove/Trapper
- Blocker
- Chest protector
- Goalie stick
- **Hockey pants
- **Protective cup
- **Helmet with full face mask protection (CSA approved)
- No street hockey grade equipment to be worn by goalies (exception - U5 division)
**Note: All youth goalie equipment provided by SPBH with the exception of:
- Hockey pants
- Protective Cup
- Helmet with full face mask & dangler​ (neck protection)
UNIFORMS (MANDATORY)
- Black shorts (no sweats or long pants)
- Black socks (soccer style - worn over shin guards)
- Team Jersey provided by SPBH
Note: Men's Division - supplies own jerseys & goalie equipment
- Items - shorts, socks, water bottles, hats, hoodies, t-shirts, jackets, etc.
- Cash or cheque only
- Available at start of season & playoff weekend only
SPORT CENTRAL
- Strathcona County, Recreation, Parks and Culture is affiliated with Sport Central as a referral agent for children and youth requiring sport equipment for sport or recreational use. Sport Central provides recycled sporting equipment at no charge to families in need. Click here for details
